Rhythm Death | Music Production Interface
Rhythm Death is a multi-functional music production platform providing rhythmic control of any sound. It operates not only as a drum machine and sequencer, but as a powerful production and compositional tool that can aid the creative process of making music. Users can upload any recorded sounds into the program and create sound banks that can be manipulated and reorganized to create a rhythmic compositions.

The challenge was to reflect City of Melbourne’s cool sophistication on the world stage, capture the passion of its people, and provide the city with a unified, flexible, and future-focused image. The new identity needed to overcome political complexities, improve the cost-effectiveness of managing the brand, and unite the disparate range of entities (including the council, City of Melbourne’s destination brand, and an ever-growing portfolio of different initiatives, programs, services, events, and activities).”
Danish designer Michael Hansen created specially printed double-sided vinyl records as a means of visualizing music through a stop-motion-like animation, produced naturally by the effect of the disc spinning on a turntable. the project was developed for a two-track recording by modern classical composer Allan Gravgaard Madsen.
This video, which is simply titled “Outer Space,” was created by Hauge-based filmmaker Sander van den Berg. Van den Berg plumbed the depths of NASA’s Cassini and Voyager image databases to find photographs that were taken in succession, allowing him to stitch them together into moving pictures. The result, as you can see, was nothing short of breathtaking.Ring gaps, moonlets, geysers, big red spots and littler red spots abound.
Borderlands is a new interface for composing and performing with granular synthesis, a technique that involves the superposition of small time fragments, or grains, of sound to create completely new textures and timbres. This software enables flexible, real- time improvisation. It is designed to allow users to engage with sonic material on a fundamental level, breaking free of traditional interaction paradigms such as knobs and sliders.
